As the largest university of applied sciences in the Netherlands, we play a key role in addressing the challenges presented by urban life. Via co-creation with our stakeholders, we work on practical and impactful solutions to issues high on the EU Urban Agenda: from the decarbonisation of cities and transportation, the circular economy, demographic challenges, digital connectivity, infrastructure and the usage of Big Data, to name a few.
The AUAS has 48,718 students and offers 92 Bachelor’s, Master’s and Associate degree programmes. It is one of the biggest employers in the field of higher education in Amsterdam, with 4,199 employees. Our students, lecturers, professors and researchers work closely with countless industries, companies and organisations to come up with smart solutions to challenges facing cities – both in Amsterdam and beyond.
